When starting your businesses Facebook page your first task is to get some fans, now before you run off to buy fans, which are almost certainly going to be fake and do nothing for your business, you should look closer to home and invite all your Facebook friends to support your business. Unfortunately if you have more than a few Facebook friends Facebook has made this a particularly tedious task where you have to tick each friend individually in order to invite them.

Fortunatley, there are a few tricks you can use to take the sting out of inviting many friends at once, this will work on a number of browsers including Chrome , Internet Explorer 9+ and Firefox (with the firebug plugin).

  1. Open your chosen browser and navigate to your Facebook page.
  2. Click on ‘Invite Friends’.
  3. Change the menu drop down from ‘Recent interactions’ to ‘Search all friends’.
  4. Scroll right to the bottom of your friends list as Facebook extends the list only when the list is scrolled.
  5. Press F12 to open up the debugging window, then click console.
  6. Copy and paste the below code into the console area then press enter.

    var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input");
    for (var i=0; i < inputs.length; i++) {
    	if (inputs[i].getAttribute('type') == 'checkbox') {
  7. Click ‘Submit’ on the Facebook popup window and wait. You should have confirmation that your friends have been notified about your page.
  8. Unfortunately if you have too many friends this will not work all in one go, you can however get round this by only scrolling a couple of screens at a time in step 4 and repeat.
